This flower is a plant that can live in a soil which contains a poisonous mineral known as Serpentine. This plant is poisonous and lives in Prairies of California that have sandy soils. This plant grows in spring but unfortunately it cannot adjust to the cold weather conditions in winter. The flowers die in winter but the roots are kept in the soil to grow back again the next year.
